Pink? I Believe I Will.

Dear Helen Hartman,
So, you think you're so smart with your advice about going blonde - how about throwing a little advice love the way of those of us who have kids who want to dye their hair all sorts of crazy colors?

Dear Loves Your Heirs but not Their Hair,
Do not make Helen go over this again. It's just hair. You can dye it back. Or cut it off. Or wear a wig. ENJOY!

I am enjoying my hairdo even as we speak. If I enjoyed it more I think I might explode.

And if you say to your husband - all this talk about blondes having more fun  makes me want to go blonde, what do you think? And he says "I'd rather you dye it pink." You know what you gotta do!
Yes. I did it. (just the bangs and a streak  - like it?)

  1. I work for very conservative people. Pink hair would not fly. Some day, I shall have pink hair.

  2. Good for you! Pink hair suits you! My poor mom, rest her soul, spent her whole life afraid to do anything crazy and fun, so I've spent all mine doing my own crazy things AND hers, and I don't have a single regret. :)

    *WOOHOO for pink hair!*
I have had Green, Blue & Red but never pink I don't think it would show up with my brown hair.

  4. Hello Helen:
Pink! How wonderful and why not?! Indeed, why not any colour for, as you say, it can so easily be changed?

  5. Thanks Y'all! I was afraid it might look a bit "Mrs. Slocombe" ala Are You Being Served but it's just the fringe of my bangs and a streak. Fun.

  6. Barbara - it's way more fun than I thought - it's temporary so maybe you can try that on vacation some time!

  7. Coconut - this was neon pink so it would probably show up as a deep pink on brown - Red, Green and Blue - I love the trend of pretty colors in hair!

  9. Love your hot pink streak! I always let my kids do whatever they wanted with their hair, after all it's not permanent. My son once sported a very long spiked mohawk with each spike a different color when he was in high school. Yes, I actually helped him dye it with koolade powder no less.
I'm so glad he got to do it, especially now as it's apparent he's inherited the baldness gene from my grandfather! At least I know he enjoyed it while he had it, lol.

  12. LOL Rose. I bet your kids are as fun as you. My son works in a place called Rainbow Blossom and has beautiful curly blonde hair half way down his back. His dad, the balding ex hippie has never said a word... jealous maybe?

  22. I say one should follow their heart as long as it does not directly hurt others. Pink bangs is such a neat touch. Like you said, it's just hair. When my son was 18 he had shoulder length curly hair, he played guitar. I bought him those elastic pony tail rubber bands and kept loving him all the time. It was just hair, just him finding out who he was and was not. Then he went into the Air Force and was almost bald, lol for years. Loved that he served our country, but now he is 30 and has nice, normal hair, but always he was my loving, handsome son. So yup, pink bangs is cool with me.

  23. LOL Lynn - we have a lot of those elastic bands around. I know you are proud of your son. The last time my son cut his hair short was for a play in high school and I thought it looked great. He did not. He also is not so keen on the pink - which makes it more fun. How often does one get to irritate a child like that?
