Pink Pickin' Day!

Dear Loved Ones - it is a perfect fall day here in Kentucky and I can't concentrate on anything, especially other people's problems!

"POINK!" That Pink-cess speak for "I'm so oinkin' pink I can do whatever I please"

So celebrating Pink Saturday with a couple fun finds from today's Estate Sale.
 These:

Glass decanter stoppers, they are very heavy... all the better to hurt your tootsies should Helen startle you while trying to help yourself to some of her, um, vitamin water.

And This:

It's a planter but for WHAT? I HAD to buy it because, well, LOOK at it. WHAT IS IT? I thought it was a cow until I got it home and actually LOOKED at it. Is it a dog? With a pointed head and blue spots? And is that a saddle or blanket on it? And why the guitar floating there... or is that a cello? I don't know but now it's mine. Jealous? I know you are!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Helen's plans include feeding the hungry (because otherwise the hungry aka my family won't let me rest), saving the environment (by recycling junk from other people's homes and flea market stalls to my house) and figuring out how to glitter up my pink hiking boots (results next week, good or bad!)

  1. Loved seeing your finds. The pink pig is great. Wish I could afford the old glass door knobs. The ones I have found are too pricey.

  2. LV - Thanks! they had amazing glass doorknobs at this sale but they were pricey, theses are bottle stoppers and only $2 or I'd have left them, as I did the doorknobs.

  9. Happy Pink Saturday Helen Sweetie...
What a gorgeous share today. I love your little cow/dog with a saddle or blanket and a cello/guitar. I think it could be used in many places as a container. I too love the unusual items, sometimes they just catch my eye you know.

Your stoppers are beautiful. My husband would have been fighting you for these. He too, has a love for these darn stoppers. What we are going to do with them? Who knows.

Have a glorious weekend sweetie. I so enjoyed your share today. As always I leave with a smile on my face and joy in my heart. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

  11. I'm about to embark on a decanter stopper search myself. Yesterday was "Break Everything at the Store" Day. We demolished two Blenko glasses and the stopper to a crystal decanter and had two more near-misses. I don't know what was wrong with us, be we all were like bulls in a china shop.

Have a great weekend with your hungry crew.

  20. I SOo love your stoppers, for I think the lovely things are almost jewelry (and I much prefer THEM, anyway). The afternoon sun coming through on a clear glass bowl of their bright facets, or of old glass doorknobs---what a beautiful array.

I saw a wonderful movie once, in which the sublime Warren Oates and his wife lived in a boarding house, making their living in a factory in which they painted those little china figures. I've always thought that going to work together, just having all that time to dip the brush and concentrate on absolutely nothing, while you think your own thoughts---now, that would not be a TERRIBLE job, I think.

    Happy Pink Saturday!!

  22. Rachel - as someone who is currently having to think and LISTEN to the thoughts of people who have no business in my business I would LOVE a job like that. Also, the satisfaction of having created something others would enjoy!

    Thanks Lisa!
