Too Pooped To Post!

Loved Ones, I hope you will bear with Helen as she borrows a well known formula:

1 tank of gas just before the price jumped = $48.98
3 bags of fab finds = $33
2 Days on the World's Longest Yard Sale = Priceless.

So please pardon me if I just share some sights from the road today without attempting to be clever.
If there was a theme for what we found it would be MANTIQUES!

Things were rusty and crusty. Metal signs and metal toys and tools at almost every stop!

Auto parts, oil can and bikes...

I blame YOU, American Pickers!

That doesn't mean that what the girlie girls had to offer didn't have their own issues. Note to sellers - because you see something cute done with them on Pinterest doesn't mean you can change $30 for a Mason jar!!!(I didn't dare grab a snap of that - what might it have cost me?)

Darling but worth $100? Not for me - but perfect for Pink Saturday!
Speaking of pink:

Another one beyond Helen's comfort level $ wise but oh how I do love that image! ANY PBJ eaten from this would taste twice as good!
Can you imagine going off to school with that on this sweet ride?

There is just too much to show it all!

No wonder people flock to this sale!

I just don't have the space or energy to show it all - will probably post an album on my Facebook page this evening - be sure to take a look!

Back to solving the problems of the world... well, of Helen's world on Monday!

(yes, this is near where Helen lives... not the weird, twisted little world you imagined, huh?)

Have a PRICELESS weekend!

  3. I have to go to that sale before I die or am too old to add more junk to my house that my kids will throw out when I do die!

  5. I blame both American Pickers and Pinterest for the high prices on junk. I want junk to be $1 or less. I am interested in what you did buy...but I can wait until you've had a chance to catch your breath. =D

    1. Thanks - you too! The problem with travelling far for the sale is some years totally stink and others are amazing - hard to know what you will find!

  10. I'm always seeing your blog title here and there. I do think I've actually been by your blog - but you know what? I might not have at the same time. I'm visiting by way of Beverly - so Happy Pink Saturday! I enjoyed your post - some interesting and priceless sentiments for sure! It's also neat to actually (now for sure, while I am present and accounted for) to know I've been by your blog! ;) Not that I would know where you might have lived nearby - but wow, what a peaceful scene in that last photo. Ahhhhhh. Peaceful scene, take me away!

I wouldn't mind one of those little tractors (or a real big one either) for a garden though!

    Happy Pink Saturday!

  11. Well, I suppose the BIG question here is, is bigger or longer better when it comes to rusty tools? I know people who would say a resounding YES. I think I would have enjoyed myself there as well. Looks like fun. In fact, that last photo is inspiring. I would love to see a crafting item here on making your own lawn flamingos from pipe cleaners, paper towel tubes, and tea towels.

  12. Hello Helen:
How we should have revelled in every minute of this and would have found it so very hard not to empty the piggy bank for so many of the items which you show. What we should have then done with them once they were home is quite another matter!

And you clearly live in wonderful countryside. As though that makes a difference!!

    1. Ahh, but it DOES make a difference. I have become a Kentucky girl. If this state were a country, people would save up for years to come vacation here. How can anyone resist yard sale-ing across it? The people and stories are the real treasures here.

  13. I live here, too, and I am an antique and vintage dealer. Don't tell anyone, but I stayed home :)

  18. Oh Helen, wish I was there! I'd even help carry your treasures when you were just too pooped! Love the mini tractor pic! Yes, I do think that the pickers have made it so people think some things are much more priceless. Us gals still want a bargain. Helen's territory looks like a little slice of heaven.
    Hugs,

  19. I have always wanted to go the the World's Longest Yard Sale but it sounds as if the prices are getting a little steep. I hope you found something great to bring home with you! The yard sales and flea markets around here are also getting a little ridiculous in the $$ department. Seems they forget that when we buy their junk we still need to go home and put some work into it. Still, that doll house and the lunch box were adorable and it looks as if your home is in a beautiful place!
