Behave? I thought you said beeHIVE!

Dear Loved Ones -  Helen is inspired!

Please tell me this doesn't mean another afternoon with
a chandelier on your head trying to use mental telepathy
to command the cat to worship you.

I mean Helen has BEEN inspired. After this tutorial from the Fabulous Glamorous Housewife I actually managed to wrestle my hair into an itty bitty bouffant!

Why am I not showing the back?
Um, let's just say I now know where the big velvet bow
on the back of the head trend was born!
Something has to cover all those bobby pins!

I really should stay home. I have a lot of work to do. That would be the smart, prudent thing to do, right?

PRUDENT? Prudent is for gals who are afraid to be FABULOUS!

Oh, grow up! Good hair, good weather? Good grief, what kind of killjoy would waste that on dusting and dishes?

Who would do that? Hilda Harried Homemaker, that's who!
And who wants to be like HER?
She's pretty, yes, but her Coq Au Vin is more like
Coo Coo Been in the Vino cuz there is nothing on that plate.

So far this week this has been my only find:

Perfect for PINK SATURDAY but not nearly enough to keep the Vintage/Bargain Bug at bay! So Helen is out of here.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!

  7. With THAT fabulous hair, I would be out of the house, too! As it is, it's turning colder than hell here in Vegas this weekend - hitting The Strip for Gregg Allmann tomorrow night, and staying in all the rest of it! Get out there with that sex-pot hair and find the good finds this weekend, Helen...here's to you! XOXO

  14. Hello Helen:
We should not wish you to behave for a moment. It is always so very much more interesting when you are misbehaving!!!

The new hairdo is wonderful. So perfectly 1950s that surely you blend in with all your interior decorations fabulously. We are, however, worried about the velvet bow, even if it is not seen in the photograph. This seems to us more Christmas wrapping rather than style maven.....

Wishing you a joyous New Year as you discover more treasures to share with us!!

  15. What's interesting (to me) is that your link and the link prior to yours looked similar . . . and I find that your link turns out to be a pink dish ... I do think the other link is a pink flower ... I'll find out soon enough. But that's what brought me here, to check it out! True, Harried Harriet (?) right name, does not have any thing on her plate - maybe they're at a buffet cuz he doesn't either ... and the food is on the horizon (so to speak).
Cute post - cute photo of yourself. The vintage photo follows well too w/your pose and hers. Happy Pink Saturday. Jenn

  18. DHH - That really is a set of dentures some poor old lady coughed out of her mouth only to be run over by a car, right? Your new do is lovely. This is my first visit to DHH and have enjoyed it tremendously!! I will be following you via email. Thanks :)
