Drip... drip.. drip

Loved Ones - sitting here in the midst of a thunder storm and suddenly I hear a drip!

Let me guess,  it was Hubby Hartman telling that story about his football days again?

There is a crack in my ceiling and a puddle on my kitchen floor!

It wasn't me. I blame the dogs. I don't care where the puddle came from, the dogs did it.

So much for Hubby Hartman's proclamation that we don't need a new roof. That'll teach him to take a week off to work around the house then work extra hard these past few weeks finally catching up on everything he's put off for years so he could spend his week off going to movies when we aren't finishing up our DIY kitchen reno.

Hubby Hartman doesn't ask for much, just the world!

Now you know what he'll be doing take a look at what I've been doing!

Went with a pearl paint then got all Gatsby inspired and did a golden mist over her. She's stunning and more so in a Bahama's scarf and pink pearls!

May not be around the first of the week  but hope to have my new kitchen stuff off by the end of next week. Maybe a new roof, too!

  1. Helen, A roof is so important...go with a new roof. Water damage is the destoryer of homes. It leads to too many other things. I am going to wish you the best. I love your lady...she is really looking good. xoxo,Susie

    1. Thanks - our insurance had paid for it - but being in construction Hubby put off doing it because he keeps thinking he will save $ by having one of our crews do it.

  6. Oh, I have a putter-offer hubby..haha, for those that can't read my writing-he puts things off FOREVER! Drives me nuts. We finally got a new roof last year and it's a good thing since we been having a monsoon here nearly every day or so it seems. Good luck on getting your projects done. Hope you show us some pics of your kitchen! Have a happy weekend.

    1. Thanks! Putter-offer hubbies, the good side this means they are usually up for something fun on the weekends like junking or going to a concert. The bad side is the family struggles with dumb broken stuff until either his Mom decides to visit or the house goes on the market!

    1. Thanks - she's gazing out my window right now, she seems happy! I don't get it with men either - mine is the same way about his health, which as we get older worries me. I don't want him to wait until something cracks open before he takes care of it!

  10. Oh Helen! I am with you on the drip theory! My husband owns racecars and while they are kept running pristine our family cars suffer horrible slow deaths. NOT anymore, I leased a toyota, they do all the work for me! Haha, take that hubby!! Love the paint job on the glamourous head! She is ready for her close-up!

    1. Thanks - Hubby was complaining about the cost and had to remind him how he always is surprises when his customers don't want to make a necessary repair because of the cost.

    1. Well, Hubby went into the attic and has declared it to be leak free. I guess I dreamed that puddle and the crack in the ceiling? If I take my glasses off, I can hardly see it!
