Getting a Head!

Dear Loved Ones,
Helen is the one in need of advice today!

If you've seen the 'costumes' Helen wears to Walmart, you might think she needs advice EVERYDAY - fashion advice!

Saw this Saturday. Had to have it.

Helen always likes to get a head in the world.

But it really needs to be repainted. So how about some DIY?

I don't know, Helen, DIY on your seat is one thing but maybe fixing your head is one thing you don't want to try to do yourself?

Basic gloss white? Silver? Gold? Red? Or something other than paint? Fabric? Collage? Glitter?

My that IS a pickle! Luckily you know the PICKLE QUEEN! I say paint it green!

How about you? What would YOU do with Helen's head? HELP!

  1. How about pink or aqua. That head would be scary in the night....but it would look great lined with choker necklaces, or scarves.xo,Susie

  2. Silver sound interesting or a chalky white. I like the ideas of necklaces and scarves, too! Very beautiful piece!

    1. Isn't she? And I love the idea of using her to show off vintage finds! I was leaning toward silver, a kind of sterling.

  3. Maybe it already is a chalk white...but I meant something with streaks and shadows. lol

    1. It's a semi gloss with a lot of racks, not the shabby cute kind!

    2. OK...I don't feel so dumb for suggesting this now! lol

  4. Jeez, Miss Bandana has more paint on her clothes than the chairs! I think it's a warning ... stay away from paint - I suggest COLLAGE!!!

    1. So tempting! Maybe I can do part paint part collage!

  5. It's a stunning find...and part of what makes it stunning is it's simplicity. Why not adorn it with a retro hat and leave it at that?

    1. I would but she has some cracks that need mending and will have to be painted. With neck that long, you're gonna have some issues!

  6. Fabulous find, but I MUST recuse myself on this one, because with that long neck, I would head for the green paint and add big slanting, almond shaped eyes - yeah, that's where MY head is at this morning! Happy Monday - hope you find the perfect solution - I have no doubt it won't include aliens! XOXO Tanya

  7. Ya'll realize the first picture is Tippi Hendrin from The Birds, right?

    1. I can see her pink - but then I can see everything pink!

  9. I vote for simplicity too...matte white.

  10. It would be fun to mod podge vintage clothing ads, newspapers etc on it. I think you need two, one to keep white and one to decorate!!!!

  11. Either straight up shiny black or straight up white. Either would be very chic! Whatever you do, since she's bald, be sure to give her a Sinead O'Connor look with a bit ol' tattoo on her chest!!!!! ;-)

    1. LOL - she actually has a boy cut - she still is waiting to be painted but I stuck her in the window so she can enjoy the view while she waits!

  12. Well, I'm big on aqua/turq/teal but not everyone is. Are you adding facial features? I think not. Maybe creme would be elegant. More elegant than Helen's WalMart outfit... a few bling bits might be fun. Or trashy. Hmmm. Can;t wait to see what you decide!

    1. I still can't decide. Eh, it's only paint I could always redo it.

  13. It depends on where you're putting her and the colors in that room, otherwise I'd have to say a nice shade of white. Then I'd put a pretty hat on her head! Have fun!

    1. She is wearing a vintage cherry hat right now and it suits her!

  14. I think it already speaks for itself its beautiful and regal. Maybe just add a nice hat and a scarf. dee x

    1. The plain look is growing on me. I may redo the white then put some faux gold 'veins' in her to look like marble.
